I took my NCLEX yesterday morning and I almost had a panic attack in the middle of it. ? It was sooo difficult. And with the mask on, I felt like I couldn’t breathe well. It was awful. It shut off at 75 questions. I had soooo many SATA questions. I don’t see how I could pass. I did the PVT and got the “good” pop up (twice), but I know that isn’t accurate. I graduated with all A’s this past semester, and ATI gave me a 99% chance of passing my first time, but I still felt SO unprepared for the level of difficulty! ?
Any suggestions for what to study next time? I’ll try to schedule it exactly 45 days out. Is UWorld worth the investment?

You got As in nursing school and had an 99% probability of passing according to ATI and you can't see that you did very well and passed at 75 questions??
You do understand when the computer stops at 75 questions it either means you did very good and it determined that you are minimally competent and you pass or you did so poorly that it determined that even if it gave you more questions you would not pass. Which is more likely for a graduate that got As in school, studied hard, and got a 99% probability to pass?

I’m sure it is part my lack of self-esteem, and part my test anxiety. I had expected to see new content on the NCLEX but I cannot remember seeing anything that I felt confident in answering. ? I’m gonna go for a hike today and keep my mind occupied. ☺️

I also just took my exam, which also ended after only 75 questions. I felt the exam was extremely difficult. I had between 20-25 SATA, the vast majority of the topics covered were completely foreign to me, and I felt I guessed on all but maybe two of the questions. I felt extremely defeated after and was certain I had failed. I was under the impression that I had adequately prepared with UWorld (I only completed about 35% of the test bank, but both self-assessments placed me in the very likely to pass category and, of the roughly 800 questions I completed, I rated in the 96th percentile) but I felt that the questions didn't even remotely resemble what I had encountered on UWorld. Then, to my surprise, I received an email with my license in it only 16 hours later!
The moral of my story is that these exams are supposed to be challenging! They are designed to determine your competency in the shortest amount of time/fewest questions possible, and I would be more concerned if you left feeling that the exam was a cakewalk. The way everyone reassured me was that if the computer shut off in 75 questions, you either did amazing or you blew it. If you felt the exam was challenging and consistently scored well during your program and with your study materials, you definitely killed it. So relax (you earned it!) and CONGRATULATIONS!

Y’all (in all likelihood) passed, have a drink and celebrate your licenses, LOL.

If any of you preparing for NCLEX find a good test/explanation book ask your faculty to request it (early..like 3 months before you test) . The library has to order books recommended for purchase by faculty if it will benefit the student.
