Presbyterian Nurising School Merger with Queens University in Charlotte

U.S.A. North Carolina

Hello,

I got into the 2 yr. nursing program with Presbyterian Nursing School prior to their merger with Queens University for the Jan 2005 class. I was wondering if anyone knows how much tuition is now for the 2 yr program now? I think Queen's tuition per credit hour is $250; Presbyterian's was cheaper (they only offered diplomas before the merger). I've had a hard time getting any information from them which is probably due to the merger. I have to decide by this Friday if I want to attend and send a non-refundable $250 to hold my spot. But I think I may pass because with Queen's being a private school, tuition is more than I want to pay. I already have a BSBA degree in Finance from UNCC, so I already have some loans to pay back.

If anyone has any information about the school I'd appreciate that too. Thank you!

Melissa

I am a Presby grad from back in the '80s when it was a "real" (3-yr) diploma school, and have maintained membership in the alumni association since. Queens is v. expensive, and I don't know how that will affect tuition at Presby. However, Presby has a fairly generous student loan program with v. generous (easy) repayment terms that is funded by contributions from alums and other donors. It would be well worth talking to the folks at the school and getting all the info you can before dismissing them out of hand.

It was an excellent school and v. well regarded throughout the Southeast when I was going there. The longer I have been out of school and working in nursing, the more I have appreciated what an excellent nursing education I got there! I don't know what has been going on there since they started shifting away from the original diploma school model (I'm not at all happy about that decision, but no one asked me ... )
