I took my Placement Exam today and now have an accurate list of courses I can register for. I haven't been in school of any kind since 1999 and am wondering: From those of you who have completed (or at least started) prereqs, which classes should I take first? My options right now are: English 1A, Biology, Math (Elementary Algebra lmao), Sociology or Speech (Group Discussion). Which classes should I start with? I'm kind of overwhelmed right now and could really use some help deciding. Thanks!!
What you can do, idk if your school offers it, but you can view previous semester syllabis of potential profs you may take classes with. Therefore you can see their expectations versus others and if you want to take their class online or physically or even at all. Some profs want to challenge the students and others just want to make life hard for no apparent reason. In my soci online classes it was abt reading and taking quizzes and exams. Other course may be different.
Depending on your work habit sciences may or may not be a good choice. I would do the basics: math(2nd hand nature for me :) ) , MAYBE english, comp literacy if u have to take it, if the accelerated is morethan 6 weeks or about there id take it.
I'd go with English and Math first, definitely! That way you can be at ease with the transition of differences between high school and college. :) If you're up for more courses, I'd go ahead and take Biology as well, but that's just the way I'd do it! Your adviser might be able to help you out with any complications or concerns you may have about starting out. Good luck!

Thanks again, all, for your advice. Since I'm a first time student, I don't get priority registration and Biology is filling up fast. I don't think I'll make it in this semester. I can't register for another week and there's only one open class left. I'm definitely going to keep a close eye on Bio though because, like you said, it's a prereq for everything!
Another question I just thought of: I plan on taking a course during summer and those are accelerated. Which classes would and would not be a good idea to take on an accelerated basis?
