Preparing for Fall '12 nursing programs!

Published

What are you doing now that you have been accepted to a nursing program? We are all entitled to celebrate, relax, and enjoy the summer before classes begin once again, but also wondering if anyone will try to get a head start on any nursing textbooks or review some past classes. What should we be doing now with the time we have this summer?

Well since it's been two years since UVA had AP and one year since AP2, I'm definitely brushing up on those. Lol. Other than that I'm enjoying my last carefree days swimming, diving, and fishing considering the next 5 semesters are gonna be stress, work, and more stress. Haha.

I have two classes still, so I'm working on those. Feel bad saying it.. but I barely have energy for these classes, so I doubt I will start to look over anything else. This semester ends Aug 8. New semester starts Aug 22. So yeah, I won't be doing much but relaxing and conducting internet research about what to expect first semester HAHA.;)

Yup I hear you on that! I finish summer class August 4th and orientaton on the 16th. Then classes start the 20th. I actually think this pathophysiology class, nutrition, and intro to nursing is going to be very helpful. I am excited:)

Camwill, I start aug 20 too! I noticed from a previous post of yours that you have 7 kids. That's awesome! I have eight! I try not to tell too many people because it carries a stigma that im not sure I want. People always ask me how I do it, and how I'll do nursing school. I have a great husband who is very supportive and my kids are too! Do you get much of that?

Yup I get it but not by everyone. I have to prove everyone thinks I am to young. But I will take I look like a highschooler as long as people say it. But you are right some do find it hard that I can have seven kids and get As and not kind of As but over a 100% I believe my kids helped my husband and myself be very organized. That is the only thing that got me through last semester. Physio, micro, and chemistry plus lab. I also tutored and volunteered and I am not even counting my home stuff. It was hectic but we handled it so I am sure I will make it through nursing school. But you beat me by one, my hats off to you!!!
