Preparation for pediatric nursing certification?

Published

Any advice on how to prepare for pediatric nursing certification? Thanks in advance.

I did the Nurse Builders class and liked it a lot. My hospital paid for it for us. I took the cert exam shortly after the class and found the test pretty easy.

How long did it take you to complete the class? Also, how much review did you do?

I have had the same question for ages. I believe my hospital has a review course but with COVID im unsure if its still feasible. Like are there books or anything? I have no idea what to even study. what exactly is on this test?

It was a 2 day class when I took it and I did some minimal review before taking the exam. I’d been a peds nurse for 4 years by then so most of it was just refreshing the less common things.

The PNCB should have a test blueprint and a free practice test online. And I imagine nurse builders offers a virtual version of the class as well. IDK how much it costs but if the hospital offered the regular one they might offer a virtual one although my hospital has been doing in person classes again with lower enrollment so the class can be socially distanced.
