Are you already enrolled?
i was already to start here in Orlando fl. I was in the process of doing the whole app process back in OCT i needed to take the TEAS when i discovered i was prego i was told i couldnt start and wait till after the pregnancy as during clinicals id be exposed to certain stuff, in i may not be able to participate in certain things. my experience though. just had my Son in June trying to get into a PT program for early next year, Good Luck love
It depends on your school. My son's aunt was pregnant during nursing school, had her baby all while in the lpn program. Not to mention she had three other children plus her husband! She passed her Nclex this week! I suggest speaking to the school and find out their policy. The school I planned to attend spoke of pregnant students and their journey also.
Just to give you a little more support, last semester 3 of the women in my BSN program were pregnant. 2 delivered within the semester, and 1 right after the semester was over. As far as restrictions, my clinical instructor only wouldn't let them go to interventional radiology (duh!). So even if your school says no, I would try to fight it. I mean think about it, nurses are allowed to work while being pregnant...so I don't see why it'd be a problem! :)
Good Luck :)
I'm in pretty much the SAME situation!I'm 4 months pregnant, have a 17 month old son, AND my husband just got stationed overseas so I'm here alone. Being pregnant and in nursing school at the same time has been extremely challenging. There's been many mornings where I've felt like I couldn't get out the bed for lecture and/or clinicals..Or where I'm too tired to study. But I'm just trying to keep my eyes on the prize! (May 2014). Luckily, I'm due over Christmas break so if baby comes as planned, I shouldn't miss any school. My advice to you is to just stay focused & let nothing get in the way of your dreams b/c although it may be hard, it IS do-able! :)
My girlfriend and I got pregnant while we where in med sur 1 (our fourth class) we are currently finishing up med surg 2(our sixth class) and everything for the most part is ok! She's about 18 weeks now and the only real complaints she has is not getting breaks during clinicals so she can rest her feet and have a bite to eat >.
I JUST went through this. I was due July 14 but delivered on July 3rd. Our summer break starts this Friday. Luckily there was no school on the 4th, I missed Friday because I was still in the hospital and a Cardiac Med-Surg exam. I went back to school on that following Monday , made up my test and haven't missed a day since then. I was still sore that week but the week after I was feeling alot better. It's doable :)

Anyone else pregnant while in nursing school? I just found out a couple of weeks ago I am pregnant. Due March 2014. I am kind of nervous on how I am going to handle this when the new baby comes. I already have an almost 2 year old daughter. I don't want to wait another year to start the program, so I will be starting this August.
