pregnancy after a c-section?

I was just wondering how long should you wait to get pregnant after having a c-section?

Thanks!

Hi,

I've heard from the MDs I work with that you should wait 2 years between deliveries for lady partsls. They said that you should wait at least that long if you've had a C/S, if not a bit longer.

So it sounds to me that 2 years between deliveries is the safest you should do it.

Good luck!

I had a pt that had her second C-section exactly 10 months to the day after her first. First C-section was for fetal distress, second was because the doctor felt there was no way the original c-section scar had healed enough and there was no way she was going to let her have a labor trial.

I was told to wait a year after my son was born by C-setion before trying to get pregnant again. The best thing would be to talk with your ob/gyn.

I've also heard to wait two years between lady partsl deliveries so I agree you might be safest waiting a bit longer if you had a c-section. I have two children, both delivered by section and they are exactly 4 years apart. I wouldn't even have considered getting pg again until at least 2 years after my first section but many people do. I second the suggestion to ask your OB/GYN.
