Has anyone ever used this company? Can you offer any advice? How is the housing?

i'm currently with PHS and really like my recruiter and have been satisfied with the overall service, but i'm looking into Cross Country because i've heard great things about them and that they have a lot more positions available....can anyone attest to that?

Sorry to say CC would be my last choice. Right after a perm position even.

They make you pay part of your rent or you have to have a roomie.

NO WAY.

I have an assignment with PHC, and I went to visit the housing assignment in Alexandria, VA (Reserve at Potomac Yards). The apt complex is nice and its located across the street from a major shopping center. I even had a walk through of a 1 bedroom with a fireplace, nice. I have no complaints about the apt. Good luck, maybe they will house you here also. Did you get your assignment yet?

My recruiter got me an interview at WHC on a diabetes management unit. On one hand i am interested only because I dont think it would be too intense you know since I am coming from an oncology background but on the other hand i am worried b/c i have no experience in diabetes management. How did it work out w/ your scheduling issues?

i traveled a short assignment with ogrady-peyton and it was great. recritor was super, the people I worked with at Johns Hospkin was wonderful. I would like to do an equally endearing travel per-diem assignment near Raleigh, nc or near the coast but can't seem to make a connection. Any sugesstions?? Or am I just dreaming?

Do they have a website? or any contact nos. Thanx..

Specializes in ER, Pedi ER, Trauma, Clinical Education.

Currently traveling with preferred. Really like it. Is owned by same company that owns American Mobile. This means that your options for jobs and housing is infinitely more. Would highly recommend it.

I am currently on an assignment in New Orleans with Preferred and am not happy. First of all, they pay is much lower than other travelers working on the same unit. Secondly, they will charge you for everything, unlike alot of other companies. Not everything was disclosed to me in my contract. I asked for a 2 BR apt. I am being charged a $300 "security" deposit for the extra bedroom in addition to a $180/month rental fee. In addition, the complex they have contracted with charges a $500 per pet, pet deposit in addition to a $250 pet deposit for Preferred. I was also quoted on price for domestic partner coverage insurance and was charged nearly double that amount on my check.

I would advise anyone who is considering working for this company to do your research...there are better companies out there who will support their nurses, listen to your needs without having to "investigate" everything you call them about and also will pay you much better.

NEVER AGAIN will I take an assignment with this company!

i am currently on an assignment with preffered and i love this agency.. my recruiter is awesome!!!!! i have not had any problems. i knew some people in the area so i did not take the housing. i am getting a stipend check. however, i did look at a couple of the apartment complexes here and they were very upscale and very nice.

go with preffered. i think you will be happy.. make sure you specify what you want beforehand.

good luck to you

I started with PHC and I have renewed with them.

I really think it all depends on your recruiter and what you are willing to ask for. She got me everything I wanted and more. If you email me privately i will give you her name.

Nice housing, free washer/dryer, tv, lots of travel money, gas incentive and a good rate in a nice hosptial. I never get the feeling that she is just a sales person though I know she is ;)
