hello: I graduated in may 2003 from FAMU. Good luck with finding your first assignment. I have been traveling since March, and I am on my second assignment. I know this is off topic. Rattler pride, famurn
  3. Try On Assignment, NurseChoice or Faststaff
  4. I chose Bethesda vs Boca. Thanks for the response
  5. Which facility do you recommend working at? I had a phone interview with both hospitals, but I prefer Bethesda. Any info is helpful. Thanks, famurn
  6. Have anyone ever work at this facilty? I plan on taking an assignment here. Any info is helpful.
  7. I worked at Johns Hopkins for 3 yrs as a Med/Surg RN. The interns, residents, fellows, etc are world-class. Hopkins is located in the heart of the hood (East Baltimore). I always felt safe b/c security is always patrolling the area. If you like working at teaching facilities Hopkins is one of the best. You will either have something good or bad to say - there is no in b/w. Good luck.
  8. I am starting my 1st assignment with Preferred Healthcare apart of American Mobile, and the main reason why I chose this co is b/c they had the location I wanted. My recruiter though is excellent. American Mobile and their sister companies have bad reps, "big companies" = low pay, but assignments nationwide. After reading several posting in this forum I have realized no co is perfect and you should ALWAYS have a great recruiter.
  9. I am interested in purchasing a PDA before I start my first travel assignment later this month. Which PDA or pocket PC and RN friendly programs do you find helpful? What is the difference b/w wi-fi and bluetooth? Would you even recommend using a PDA or pocket PC?
  10. I have an assignment with PHC, and I went to visit the housing assignment in Alexandria, VA (Reserve at Potomac Yards). The apt complex is nice and its located across the street from a major shopping center. I even had a walk through of a 1 bedroom with a fireplace, nice. I have no complaints about the apt. Good luck, maybe they will house you here also. Did you get your assignment yet?
  11. I spoke with the scheduler today at my assignment, and she stated that travelers basicly have no say in their schedule. Is this true? I know your vacation request should be included in your contract. Do you have to tell them each and everyday you want off? If so, this is crazzzzzzzy.
  12. Hello: In late March I am starting my first traveling assignment at Washington Hospital Center. I am not familiar with the DC area. Is this hospital traveler friendly? What are your overall views on the hospital, apartments, nightlife, etc. ?
