Precepting a senior practicum student

I am assigned to precept a senior practicum student. What are the limitations? How many patients do they have from week one (day 2) since day 1 obviously is observation, shadowing. And each week until week 6 (end) and the max they can have? Your input is valuable if you may share. Thank you.

Limitations depend on the facility as much as anything else. Expectations vary school to school, as well. I'm not so sure that there is a simple answer to this question that covers all the bases.

The best person to ask these questions is the clinical instructor or department head.
