Hi fellow future nurses, I will be taking prerequisites soon and I wanted some advice, can I take A&P 1 with Microbiology or should I take Microbiology later on with A&P 2, or take each one separate?

Micro might be a good intro for A&P. I'd ask an advisor tho. :)

I think you'd be fine to take a and p 1 and microbiology at the same time as long as you aren't overloaded with credit hours.

Neither was a pre-req for micro at my school, but they each require a decent amount of prep and study. It depends on your course load and how well you tend to do in biological sciences. I'm certain I could have taken A&P 1 and micro together, but it would have been a ton of work all at once.
Thank You for the feed Back !

We're SUPPOSED to take micro after a&P I and A&P II, but we can take it with A&P II at my school with special permission. A&P I and A&P II are pre-reqs to micro. Since they let you take them in any order you want, ask your advisor what would be best for you and what would help you learn the other better or have a leg up when you do take the other. I've heard taking micro with a&P II is tough though, as with taking any 2 science courses together.

If you have the time to spread them out before they are needed to apply, I would spread them out.
My nursing app was due this past February, so I took AP 1 in winter of. 13, AP 2 in the summer and Micro in the fall. I also work full time, so it was nice to have only one of those during each semester and made it easier to ensure an A in each one.

Micro can be pretty intense. Unless you are an excellent student with plenty of study time available I would advise against taking micro with any other 200 level sciences.

I took micro and A&P 1 at the same time. It was crazy! But ended up with A's! Not recommended though...

Good day, angela82:
If you've not taken any other hard core, college-level, sciences prior to AP1 (such as a college level human biology class with lab), then I would not recommend taking AP1 with microbiology. AP1 and AP2 both have a lot of memorization required, lots of terms, etc. If you did want to group them up, then take AP2 with Microbiology as at least you'll have a foundation from AP1 to build on for both of them.
Thank you.

I took A&P II and micro together. A&P I is a requirement before micro because you need a basic understanding of cells before delving into micro. I would wait on it.
