Pre-Req Nursing Student: NLN, GPA, ETC.

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi all! I am a prospective nursing student. I plan on applying to Del Tech nursing program this summer. I took the NLN for the first time today. I got a 116. I don't think it's too great, but I was wondering what other people got? And for those people who are already nursing students, or already RN's, what score did you get into your nursing program with? And what GPA? I have a 3.5 now, but I am doing well in all of my classes this semester so I am hoping it goes up!

Do they only look at numbers when applying? Does personal info matter? Such as volunteer experience in a hospital? Also, any tips for studying & for surviving nursing school?

Anything you want to add about your experiences, grades, etc! I'd love to hear anything you would like to share!

I got a 155 when I took it in November...still waiting to hear back from the program I applied to. I had to kick @$$ on that and my prerequisites to even have a fighting chance to get in since my first degree GPA is lower than it should be to get in (2.5ish) but my prereq GPA is around 3.8.

I don't think a 116 is bad at all. I've talked to people that are in the program I want to get into that didn't even score 100. Depending on your GPA and your schools requirements, as well as others applying, I think you're ok. Good luck!!!

WOW! 155 is great! Congrats! And thanks, I hope I get in!

I took it in December. I have a 3.75 right now and got a 144 on the NLN. Best of luck in your endeavors!!!
