Im working around 26 hours per week while taking AnP I, intro to soc, and life cycle development. All the classes are 8 weeks long, so its the middle range as far as classes go (4-14 weeks). Im sure it will be a lot of work but definitely doable. Good luck everyone!

Im taking a 6 week course in June as well. CCjus...what coloring book will you be purchasing?

I just purchased the "Anatomy & Physiology Coloring Workbook" - A complete Study Guide, by Elaine N. Marieb. I looked at 2 or 3 other coloring books and feel that this one will be the most effective. I'm so proud of myself- by looking at the first couple of pages and reading the questions I knew most of the answers (thanks to Dummies for Anatomy & Physiology). I like that this book is a workbook and coloring book. It will be helpful in that it challenges you by asking questions/fill-ins and also allows you to color with the purpose of grasping the subject and memorizing it.
I bought it from the Borders bookstore here in NYC. This is the first time in a long time that I'm actually excited to open any type of book that has to do with science.

thank you...I will be using the Marieb textbook and lab manual so im probably going to purchase the workbook...I haven seen it at any borders in Chicago
(I have a 40% off coupon for borders

I used the same 40% off coupon today and got the book for a total of $30.00 thank goodness, because If I didn't have the coupon it would've came to $53!!! - YIKES!!

Yes, I really hear that all of the A&P books (coloring/text/workbooks) by Marieb are really good.

I just found it online at Barnes and Noble. Here's the link:http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Ana...5372762/?itm=3

If you go their website today they're offering a 20% off coupon for online purchases until May 3rd.

I personally like Borders better because they give better coupons. You should try to go there and ask an associate to help you with finding the book - give them the exact name and title of the book and they'll do a search for it.

    Good Luck!

did you get the 8th edition or the newer 9th edition?
  8. by ccjus123
The Borders I went to only had the eighth edition so that's the one I bought. However, Barnes and Nobles has the 9th edition.

Are you guys working while you take A&P This summer? I'm working full time and it was going to be nearly impossible to take A&P with the lab - Work all day, straight to class, and then bedtime Monday through Thursday?!?! I mean, I'm dedicated to becoming a nurse but I need to keep my sanity. I guess I'll sign up for a non-lab course, and then take A&P in the Fall & Spring?? Whew...
Yup..that's exactly what I plan on doing..working full-time and straight to class. 2 days of lecture..2 days of lab. And I can't do much studying at the job because of the nature of the job..so no sleeping when I get home.

When I take Chem 2nd semester, I'll be in a basic nursing assistant course at my school. With clinicals and lab..on certain days I'll be going from 7am until 10:30pm. Talk about crazy!!

I suggest you take A&P in the summer and get it over with. Yes..it will be HARD..yes..you won't be able to do anything else..but when you get to the fall..it will be OVER!!

    Let's do it together, Hope!!!

If you've already been studying some sort of reference this website: http://highered.mcgraw-hill.com/site...nimations.html

will help tremedously. It has animations and then quizzes you. It's great and very basic for a beginner of A&P1.

    Hi fellow A&P buddies!

This is my first post, but I have been a long time lurker. I am currently a NCMA, but am starting school back to become a RN. I'm taking A&P and Chem classes starting Monday. I work full time in L&D, mother of 5 kids...6 counting DH

My days for school will be Mon and Wed after work I will head straight to school from 5:30-8:45 for A&P. I'm taking my Chem class online. I've never taken Chem before and am really nervous about this class. I've taken both A&P classes for my MA degree, but they weren't accepted. I got A's in both and I hope my brain has retained the info I look forward to enjoying this venture with all of you
