Stressing over the NLN entrance exam

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I have to take this test on Jan 29.

Can someone tell me just how bad it really is? We have to score

70th percentile or above to have any chance of getting in to nursing.

I've been out of school for a long, long time. I do have the practice book

to work through.

I guess I'm just really fearing the unknown and feeling pressure to do well

on the unknown on things I don't know!!!!! (or know well...)

Wondering about the test content....how much reading comp, math and science? Was one area tested more than another, ect.....

If you follow this link, you find a thread I started ages ago about the pre-NLN. About midway down page 1 I talk about how I prepped and what my experience was the day of the test:

https://allnurses.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28151&highlight=pre-NLN

I had been out of school a long time, too, and prepped quite a bit for the test--I ended up scoring in the 90s for English and Science, and the 70s for math. I felt the GED prep books in each of the separate subjects were the best preparation for me, though I did use the NLN prep book as well.

Best of luck!
