NA classes and pre-reqs??

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

I am going to be starting my first pre-reqs for Nursing School next quarter. I have not signed up for any classes yet, but am considering taking the nursing assistant courses first. Would it be too much to take the nursing asst course, and a pre-req or 2?? Or should I just do the NA course, and start pre-reqs the next quarter?

I plan on talking to an advisor about it, but my appt isn't until 11/29.... and I am just curious : )

Thanks!

It likely depends on what else you have on your plate. Do you work? Have kids? Also, what sort of other course were you planning on taking?

You could take a night class. The Psychology class isnt too hard. I will be taking Microbilogy with mine, but it will just be one night per week + a lab. I know the instructor would let me do my lab at another time, so I wouldnt be there all night. It will be tough for a few weeks, but this is something I want soooooo much.

You might want to start out with something light like the Psychology. Good luck to you.

I took my Nursing Asst. course before starting my Nursing classes and the best thing is this next semester I get to opt out of my labs and clinicals for the nursing class because it's mainly the same thing. I would say you'd be better off taking the NA class right away. :)
