How many pre-reqs did you have completed before you applied to nursing school?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi,

I am planning to apply to nursing school early next semester. I am currently taking A&P1, chem, psy, and eng 1 in which I have all A's. I plan to clep out of sociology and eng 2 during winter break before applying. I was wondering how many pre-req classes did you all comeplete before applying and did you also have to send in progress on your current classes after they reviewed your application?

Thanks

I had previously taken psych (pre-req for human development) and statistics. So I needed to take intro bio (pre-req for other bio courses), micro, nutrition, human development and ap1&2. My apps are going in with ap1&2 outstanding. I plan to take them in the spring and summer.

Check the nursing school's policy. Mine requires all but two (that are taught by the nursing school the summer before entrance) be completed before applying.

I'm sure each program has different requirements. I applied to mine on the first day of this semester, and I'm taking Micro, A&P 1 and Psych. Next semester will be my last two prereqs (A&P 2 and Human Growth/Development). They keep tabs on our academic progress in our files, but we have to report things such as getting our CNA completed, etc. Decisions aren't made until the last week of May so as long as all prereqs are completed by that date we're fine.
