Applied to JHU Trad BSN 2008 early decision

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

Hi!

I submitted my application for the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing (JHUSON) in early Oct (deadline was in Nov) for early decision to the Traditional 21 month BSN Program beginning in 2008. Has anyone else applied? I am supposed to hear from them Dec 15th, but that's on a Saturday. When do you think they will call?

Thanks,

Please see this thread I began regarding JHU:

When I interviewed, I told Denelle that Dec 15th was a Saturday, and she was surprised, indicating that phone calls would then probably be made on the following Monday. However, when I got my last email from JHUSON indicated that my application was going for committee review it said they would be sending letters for decisions. I'm still waiting to hear back from them clarifying the true method of notification, I really don't want to be expecting a phone call and then not get one.

The email you got from them...was it just informing you that your application was complete and would be passed on to the board, etc? I got that email too. I have been sooo nervous! I was reading some posts from last years acceptance on this site and seeing that come people got calls Dec 9th all the way up to Dec 15.

your application is complete. the admissions committee will review your application and make a decision. early decision letters will be mailed on or about december 15, 2007.

this is the text i received in the latest email from an admission coordinator on november 23rd, weeks after my interview. this states that they will be mailing letters, so unless you would like to call jhuson to clarify, who really knows?

does hopkins interview all applicants? i do not see any reference to interviews on their site. i haven't heard back from them either, other than the confirmation email. i suspect they will wait till the last minute. lol

Yes, applicants with complete applications are granted interviews (either phone or in-person) I had mine a few weeks ago.

I thought so. I guess they are not considering me then because I haven't received a call. Hmm.

Why don't you call to find out if your application is complete? If you have sent all required documentation you are granted an interview.

It's complete, they sent me an email saying so. I guess I just wait for the interview then. They actually interview all applicants? That must take so much time!

Hi...Let me try and shed a little light for you. Yes, they let you know you finished the application, you dont have to interview, but it is suggested. you actually call in to set up an interview on your own. I dont think they call you and ask you to interview, but I could be wrong. I know you have a choice between a personal interview and one over the phone. From what I have heard, in person is best. I think they really observe your persistence. Call in ASAP and request an interview! Maybe they havent finalized decisions yet. We should be hearing back Dec 15th, or the Friday before, or the Monday after. They say they will send a letter, but I haven never heard of anyone accepted and not getting a phone call based on everything I have read.
