Hi!
I submitted my application for the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing (JHUSON) in early Oct (deadline was in Nov) for early decision to the Traditional 21 month BSN Program beginning in 2008. Has anyone else applied? I am supposed to hear from them Dec 15th, but that's on a Saturday. When do you think they will call?
Thanks,

I'm sorry but I disagree. Based on my conversation with the admissions counselors you are NOT penalized if you opt for the phone interview. In my case I really wanted to go out there, but the time frame for booking travel was too tight and I didnt want to spend a fortune. They actually went out of their way to let me know that you are not penalized if you don't go in person, each interview type if treated equally.
Well, What I meant by it being "better" was that, from what I heard from those who interviewed in person and those over the phone, it is a better opportunity to do an in person interview because they tend to spend more time with you, giving you personal tours, etc. It gives you a better opportunity to have your face seen and get a good look at the school. The one student I talked to at the open house said that her personal interview was 3 hours long and she even got to visit a class during her interview. But, you're right, you're not penalized at all for doing phone instead of in person because many people trying to get into Hopkins can't fly out to Baltimore in the middle of the week.
