Pre-Nursing Student! Help...

Published

This may be a stupid question to ask, but I have a question. I'm currently a pre-nursing student who will likely take 1.5-2 years to finish my prereqs. I have A+ in all my classes (including anatomy) at the moment however I recently dropped one and have VW. I VWd this class because of current things going on in my life and because I didn't enjoy the course at all. I ess my questing is will a VW impact me in any way and does it mater that its going to likely take 2 years to get into my the faculty of nursing? Im 19.

Thanks lol...

By VW i'm assuming you mean a withdrawal. Some schools look at them and dock you for them, while others do not. I believe what is most important is which class did you withdrawal from? If it is a prerequisite then it may end up hurting you. If it wasn't for a prerequisite then I don't think it'll matter.

I'm not sure I understand your second question. Are you asking if it matters if it will take you 2 years to finish the prerequisites? If that's the question then no it does not matter how long it takes you to complete them. What matters are your grades :)

Sorry, I should have been more clear. Thank you for answering my question about how longs it takes. In terms of the VW, I'm pretty sure my school doesn't care if you have any and I VW'd from a non-essential course, sociology. I VW'd because I really disliked the course and I have don't have enough time to do it. I have A+s at the moment in all my other classes.

It would be very important for you to read the admissions criteria of your prospective nursing schools, and if that doesn't answer you question, talk to the admission's counsellors.

We can only tell you that some schools don't care, and others do.

It honestly depends on the school. Some schools consider withdrawals, others do not. You can find admissions criteria on the school website or by simply asking an admissions counselor /advisor. Life happens so one or two withdrawals isn't something to worry over. I have a couple of withdrawals and I still got into a good nursing school. Just don't accrue too many withdrawals for admissions committees to question and you should be fine.
