Currently I am a pre-nursing student (just changed from a business major in my 2nd semester ever of college) and I have two options.
First Option: (expedited)
Take General Chemistry, Biology, and Developmental Psychology in the summer to help get me on track to graduate in 4 years with the rest of my class of 2020 peers. This means I would apply in February of 2018
or the second option (one extra year)
Take Biology in the summer and the rest of the Nursing Pre-Reqs this fall and just apply for the Nursing program at the University a year later (in February of 2019). This option allows me to take a minor in business as I have more time.
I think the second option is better for my Science GPA and just for my understanding all together, plus it allows me to use some of the credits I earned as a business major towards a business minor. However, I am unsure whether or not taking I will be taking too much time and whether that or not that will matter when I apply to be accepted into the Nursing program. Also please feel free to leave any helpful tips or advice for a pre-nursing student like myself.
*The reason why I never entered college as a Pre-Nursing major is because my father was unsupportive of my choice to major in Nursing. It wasn't until January where I started doubting my choice as a Business major and wanted to change it to Pre-Nursing.*

I would go with the second route simply because biology and chemistry can be very intense courses. Also keep in mind chemistry isn't needed for UCF's nursing program, it's recommended. If you take general biology 1 it will fulfill the BSC criteria. I may be wrong, but I would double check the website and talk to an adviser. Chemistry is needed for schools such as FSU, FIU & etc so it is good to have. I only took General biology and hope to attend UCF's nursing program in the spring of 2018.
Thank you for your advice! Definitely taking the second route
