hey there! I wouldn't listen to anyone if I were you! TWU does not take the overall/previous GPA. They only look at your pre-req GPA. You could have a 4.0 overall GPA or a 2.0 overall GPA, they just want the pre-reqs. Just study hard and you can do it. If you did poorly in some of your pre-reqs retake them but only if you know if you are going to do better.
You can do it. Most things are hard. so what? Prove 'em wrong!
Brownberry. While it is true that TWU does not take the overall GPA and only core pre reqs, they will also factor in HESI (composite score). There are new set of rules that have been implemented than the previous semester. I would advise you to look in the TWU CON web site if you are interested in applying. Talk to Teresa McDaniel who is one of the nursing admissions coordinator there and she will inform you of the current process. If you truly want to become a nurse then plan, work hard whatever level you are at and strive to reach that goal. At times there will be tremendous sacrifices however it is so worth it if you want it that bad.

And some of the previous post are correct when deciding to choose the traditional nursing program instead of the accelerated one. In TWU approximately 30 are chosen in the accelerated program which are offered every other year at either the Dallas and Houston campus. Eighty are chosen in the traditional BSN program. And yes the competition is fierce.
