Pre-nurse student has 3 (c) on transcript

Published

Hi, everyone I'm new to this forum so bare with me. Well I'm just about finish with my A.A degree (last semster):yeah:! Now I'm at the point of sending out applications however, I'm really nervous and I know its typical but, I have a terrible ituation. I have three C's on my transcript. In A&P1, PSY, and chemistry. I'm so sad an afraid of not entering an nursing program. Does anyone have some advice for me?:uhoh3: My GPA is right at an 3.3, is there any hope for me??

What school do you know of that all you have to have in a 2.75 GPA?

Specializes in Med-Surg/DOU/Ortho/Onc/Rehab/ER/.

Welcome to my world (2.9 GPA)

Well for one, consider where you live and how competitive it is around you; i.e. if you live in SO CAL & if you do not have all A's in pre-reqs than don't even bother applying to any NS whether it be ADN or BSN programs.

Secondly, most programs let you retake ONE class to get a better grade. But retaking anymore than one class, no matter what anyone tells you, reflects poorly on your transcripts.

Thirdly, did you get those C's in one quarter/semester? See if you can get the grades waived by the school. Maybe you can claim you were having a hard time, personally? I wouldn't recommend lying but I mean you can try it... I heard it can be done but I have never actually seen it work. Try it (if its true lol)

Lastly, if you can't get in ANYWHERE and I mean apply everywhere in a 60+ mile radius. If you still get all denied by all schools then I would think about entering a LPN/LVN program and then bridging to an RN later (what I am doing).

Good Luck!

yes, I can and thanks for the advice!

I'm not really sure. I also in Fl, sory....
