Pre Entrance Exam Jitters

Hello Everyone,

I will be taking the pre-entrance exam for the PN program at Lawrence County Career and Technical Center at the end of the month.

I figured when I sent in my registration I would get a bit more back then a visitors pass, so I wonder for anyone who has possibly gone here if there is anything I should know before hand?

I currently have the Review Guide for LPN / LVN Pre-Entrance Exam book and have been working from that but I am still worried I may be missing something. It's been a while since I have been in school so I am trying to be as prepared as possible.

Thanks in advance!

Hi MomInTraining!

I did not attend the school that you are applying to, but I was wondering if you were taking the NET exam. That was the pre-entrance exam that we had to take to get into my PN program.

For the NET exam there was no 'nursing stuff' on it whatsoever. It was basic math (fractions, decimals, etc.) and reading comprehension. It also tests you on your stress levels and things that deal with your personality, such as, 'You study better in groups: Agree or disagree.'

If I were you I would contact your school and find out what test they are administering (If you don't know already). I hope this helps, you'll do great!! Good luck!! :nuke:

The entrance exam I took included basic algebra, fractions, graphs and a large reading/ comprehension section that also included critical thinking questions. It had nothing to do with nursing, they just want to make sure you have the basic knowledge to grasp what you will be taught. I had been out of school since highschool 18 years ago, and I did well. Good luck!

Thank you both for your replies. I been trying to call the school to find out which test but no has been picking up. The website wasn't much help as all it says is "general aptitude test" So I am figuring I will just keep brushing up on everything until I finally get a hold of someone!

Thank you both again very much!
