Pre Employment Physical for a female

Published

Question for the experienced nurses out there. What does a typical pre employment health worker physical exam entail for a female? I just got hired for my first job and was told it would be a in-depth exam. I read online that some people had 12 lead ekgs, breast, pelvic and rectal exams as part of their’s. It’s not a big deal I just want to be prepared for what I’m about to go through. Also is an observered drug test typical? Thanks in advanced!

Holy cow. EKG seems within reason...the rest of it not so much. Deal-breaker.

You could call occ med and just state that you'll be coming in for your pre-employment physical and want to know what to expect.

Not sure if observed UDS is will be part of it. Some kind of drug screen will be.

Somebody was putting you on. Unless you’re applying to be an astronaut there’s not going to be an in-depth physical like that.

Never heard of such a thing,an ekg maybe depending on age, they used to do xray if TB test positive, some labs,no drug test, you could also get a signed physical from your private MD. if you had a recent  xray, rubella titers etc.
