Hello everyone,
I just have a random question. About 3 weeks ago, I took a Tylenol #2 because I fell on my hips and it was super sore. Anyways, I had a pre-employment drug test done today and I did mention that I took a tylenol #2 a few weeks back. My only issue now is that it wasn't my prescription, it was my moms. Do you think this will be an issue?

The only issue I could think of is not getting a call back which if you come up positive I am pretty sure that'll happen. No place of employment will hire someone who comes up "hot" on a test without their own prescription to back it up.. But hopefully all goes well and you come up clean for everything!!! Good luck and keep us updated

It may come up but once it does they go into further detail on what was took. As long as thats not consider a narcotic like a drug u will b fine they should not want proof of pills

Actually, they very well may want proof of a prescription for anything that turns up. Tylenol with codeine is a schedule III drug and requires a prescription. Depending on whether or not it does show in the test, it could be an issue leading to denial of employment offer and possible report to the BON, depending on how the facility handles a positive drug screen.

As others have said, if they have codeine included on their test and it comes up you may have to provide proof of an Rx. They may decline to hire you if you are unable to provide that.
Well I was told before taking the drug test to come back in another day and bring in the pill box. This is super depressing though. I've been out of school for a year so I am no longer covered under my parents insurance which as why I didn't go to the doctors in the first place after falling. I really didn't think that by taking one Tylenol #2 pill that wasn't prescribed to me would totally destroy my chances of employment. Actually, I took the pill even before I landed an interview. I guess I'll just have to wait and see...

Dang, codeine is out of your system in, like, 72 hours. Nothing but marijuana lasts ~3 weeks in your system. Your honesty here was definitely to your detriment.
