So here is a question for ya,
what sorts of objects have you guys practiced on at home for lab skills.
For injections, I.V. therapy,catheritization.etc. etc.
(E.g. fruits and veggies?)
I thought of some more for ya...I used a large auto sponge and cut a deep wound into it and remove the center "cut out" to practice wet-dry/wet-damp dressings. Also, I took a rubber glove, cut one of the fingers off and poked a safety pin thru the end of it. Then I cut a sliver out of the top of an old large butter tub and pulled the rubber finger thru it to create a drain (I drew a suture line near it w/permanent marker). This was awesome to help practice cleaning and doing those darn drain dressings w/ a no touch technique at home where you can screw up as often as you like and no one can see but your family!!
This is really very creative. Love it!!!

I practiced foleys on a teddy bear. Q-tips, a straw, a plate, pair of gloves folded at the bottom, and some imagination for everything else. Not the greatest practice but it helped get my muscle memory down to do the procedure.
I think I practiced full assessments on that same teddy bear.
I can't remember how I did everything else, but if you ask me about something specific I'll try to remember.
