The one I hated the most is: Name 3 of your strenghts and three of you weaknesses. Admitting your weaknesses is kind of a catch 22. If you say you have none then you seem arrogant, but naming them may cause them to not hire you. Ive had that question in more than one interview, so be prepared. They dont expect you to be perfect, so just be honest.
Specifically they liked hearing about: patient care (major points being always keep the pt informed of whats going on/delays, keep the care fast, lots of teaching). They specifically asked 2 different scenarios: What to do/expect with a person with CP? Also what to do/expect with a person with bright red emesis? (these were just to see if critical thinking skills are intact or at least on the right path).
Also did strengths and weaknesses (be honest during this, they want to see a willingness to learn).
Good luck!!! I have been in the ER for only 8 weeks now but Im having the time of my life. Ive gotten every thing from finger lacs to head bleeds, withdrawls, overdoes. Im learning so much and I love it.
I hate the strengths and weaknesses questions -- I've had those before for other jobs. No doubt I will have them all thought out and then FORGET the way I wanted to spin them once I am in there.
Crux1024 - I am assuming CP is chest pain? I am sort of counting on something related to a possible MI coming up - thanks for sharing!
Prettyladie - I think we've crossed threads before on the Texas nurses region. I'm in DFW, interviewing at Parkland.

Hello, I am a new grad interviewing for an ER position next week. I am wondering what types of questions to expect and hoping that you guys will share some that you were asked (or that you ask others). Thanks!
