What are tucks and spray used for (for example sooze pads and Dermoplast) in the postpartum period and how do you apply them?

I am only familiar with Dermoplast. It is a Benzocaine spray that eases pain and swelling. You may use it after peri care / toileting.

I've researched what tucks and spray are, but I would still just like to know more in depth about these products. I've read that you can use both after toileting, but how exactly? For example, I've read that with the tucks/sooze pads you can wipe your lady partsl area or bottom, but I've also read in other places that you can put the tucks on your pads. Does placing the tucks on pads provide relief for example because the perineal area is burning? Also, for the Dermoplast, can you spray it either in your lady partsl area or bottom? As long as there's discomfort?

Ok, it goes like this. Squeeze bottle all around to clean. Toilet paper or Tucks to blot dry but not to wipe (ouchie). Spray goes up down and all around. One Tucks tucks in between the cheeks to help hemorrhoids. Maybe or maybe not a tucks up towards the front for front swelling. I don't recall Tucks helping much with burning. You need the squeeze bottle for burning. Or a sitz. Then the OB pads (read: huge) go on the stretchy underwear and the whole thing gets pulled up. Basically you can't live without the squeeze bottle and the spray. And I just have to say, cute pastel matching jammies after birth are a bad idea.

Tucks pads are used to relieve the burning, itching and general irritation of the perianal area. This is also used for hemorrhoid relief because it helps reduce swelling of the affected tissue. The dermaplast spray can be sprayed on the perineum to provide a cooling effect and relieve irritation. Me personally I would use the Peri bottle to clean up, then spray dermaplast, then place a tucks pad or two to provide continued relief.

Yes. My hospital's PP rooms had those hair dryers like they have in hotels for air drying the sore areas. I just couldn't bring myself to touch it, thinking where it might have been....

yes you can
