Post Masters FNP after WGU

Updated:   Published

I am a long ways off from doing this, but I am starting to research now. Has anyone completed a Post Masters FNP after their MSN at WGU? Were you MSN Leadership or Education? I am trying to decide if I want to stay in the RN-BSN program and then apply to another school for FNP MSN or if I would be better off changing to the RN-MSN at WGU and then doing the Post MSN certificate. To top it all off, we are moving across the country in the next year, so it may make a difference in where I end up.

I applied to several post-master's NP programs and got accepted to every one. The school I decided to attend is Herzing University. I chose this program because the didactic portion is online (clinicals are obviously completed in person with a preceptor), I only had 4 didactic courses to complete, and I can finish the entire program in 16 months. I know there are some nay-sayers about this school, but I chose the program that best fit my lifestyle and schedule. The school is regionally/CCNE accredited (I did my research to make sure of this). This met all of my criteria that I look for in a school. Hope this answers your question!

Which others were you accepted to?
