I interviewed for a job at a local hospice last week. The person I interviewed with said she would call me in a few days - she did. She said her boss wanted to meet me and she would call me "in a day or two most likely the meeting to be Tuesday or Wednesday" of this week. That was last Thursday and I've heard nothing. I mean zip - this has me up against a wall as there is another place that has offered me a position and is not willing to wait for an answer so I said "yes" since I have no idea what's happened to the 2nd hospice interview. I would think if she changed her mind she would've told me. Some people have said I should call and ask what's going on but I am uncomfortable doing that..any advice? I am really confused and disappointed.
Thanks!!

there is absolutely nothing wrong with calling back, and asking about the status of your interview.
also share you have another job offer, but your interest is in hospice.
good luck!

I would do what Leslie said. Definitely call. If you still get stonewalled, well, then accept the second job and let the chips fall where they fall. You can't wait forever.
Thanks - I don't want to appear overly aggressive but at the same time if she has changed her mind I would like to know..

I agree completely with all the others, she should have called you back. That is
unprofessional at best, how does she treat her employees when they ask for a date to
meet and discuss their progress. Does she put them off, "well, maybe Mon, or Tues next week.
Please, look at that date book and pick a day. You have every right to call and say 'Iam still
very interested in finding out where I stand on the interview process', That would impress
most potential employers. You have gone twice, and spent time and gas, which is not cheap.
Your time is valuable. if they still put you off, move on, and dont look back. The other job may be
the better fit, but I would still find out why they did you that way.
