Marquette Direct Entry MSN 2018

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Published

Hey guys, I didn't see a thread for Marquette's direct entry MSN program for fall 2018 so I figured I'd start one. I just submitted my app for the PP location today for their spring admission, but I am also applying to Marquette's traditional program for fall 2018. Do they review applications based off date submitted or date verified?

Hope to start school with some of you soon!

I haven't gotten a decision yet for the Milwaukee site :/ I was kind of hoping I would have heard back by now.

I wonder if they haven't got enough applications to review. I know Taylor said that's a factor considered. Is that something we could call and find out?

Hi Sarbla! I received an acceptance for August 2018 as well. I would love to connect to get to know anyone who plans on attending PP August 2018.

Hi paige! I tried to personal message you but it doesn't seem to let you do that unless you have over 15 "quality posts". Do you have Facebook? If you do you can add me- Sara Blasier!

Just requested you Sara!

Hey! to those who were accepted to PP Marquette for Summer 2018 cohort, do you mind sharing your gpa? I currently have a 3.09 (based on nursingcas) and a 317 GRE (4.0 writing) and I wanted to see if I have a chance.

I heard back from the Milwaukee location on 11/20 via email and unfortunately was not admitted. I know they were doing a review in early November.

I am VERY anxiously awaiting a response about the PP location. I have called the academic adviser but he cannot talk with me until I receive an official notification from the school. He told me not to worry though... but it is hard not to!

How did your August acceptances come? Do you have any more information about why they pushed the start for some to August? When did you hear back? It sounds like there is something going on with my application but when I asked for further details I heard it was not bad. I am really hoping to start at the PP location with you all!

Hey Chicoperson, do you mind sharing what your stats were?

Sure... I had a 3.27 overall but 3.8 in my last 60 units (not sure if that matters at Marquette). 3.5 in prerequisites, 310 on GRE (4.5 on writing portion). I had 4 letters of rec (two academic, two professional), and have been working in senior living administration for the past 3 years. I also have 2 years of caregiving experience and worked as an intern in the ICU and ER for a year.

Hey chicoperson

So this summer I met a girl who was already admitted to the January 2018 start at PP. She told me that she applied for the August 2017 start date and they accepted more people than they could accommodate so they pushed some of them to start in January 2018. So when we applied, there was already seats filled from people who applied for the August 2017 cohort. I am thinking the same thing happened this time around and that is why people are getting pushed back to start in August 2018.

I got my acceptance for August 2018 last Monday and they said I had until Dec 1- this Friday to say yes- so I am assuming that if people do say no, there will be more acceptances possibly going out next week?

Thank you for the info Sarbla. That makes sense! All the answers I had been getting are really vague. I think I probably on the "second string" then, so waiting to hear back after the initial round of acceptances go out. How did the college approach the change in date with you?

I understand the vague part of it! I have been asking if there are still seats available for the January start but I haven't really gotten any answers on that so I am not sure if people are still deciding and they are waiting on that or what is going on. I just received an email saying that I was accepted effective the fall semester of 2018 so it was the same acceptance letter but with a different start date.
