Hey guys, I didn't see a thread for Marquette's direct entry MSN program for fall 2018 so I figured I'd start one. I just submitted my app for the PP location today for their spring admission, but I am also applying to Marquette's traditional program for fall 2018. Do they review applications based off date submitted or date verified?
Hope to start school with some of you soon!
I had a 3.1 GPA, 306 on the GRE with a 4.5 writing. I also had four years of volunteering at various hospitals and I am about to get my EMT license. I also went to Marquette for undergrad and played volleyball so that might have helped me some. My advisor told me the thing they look at the most is your personal statement and your previous healthcare experience, but obviously good grades will help tremendously.
That is great that you went for Marquette for undergrad! Did you have a good experience?
I currently live in WA and was accepted for a school in CA that starts in January, so I am stressed out about whether or not to plan a move to CA or not... I would much rather to go to Marquette! I hope I hear back soon so I can figure out whether or not to move. Best of luck on your wait ml2k1.
That is great! My partner is from there so I am really hoping to get to make the move. I've heard great things about Milwaukee and lived in Chicago in the past and loved it! I am surprised at how quiet the Marquette boards have been thus far. It seems like there are a lot of people applying/lots of interest.
Hello everyone! I applied to both Milwaukee for May 2018 admission and Pleasant Prairie for August 2018 admission and am still waiting to hear back from Pleasant Prairie. Milwaukee sent me an acceptance letter last week! Has anyone else heard back from them?
becominganRN22 The last I heard from admissions at Pleasant Prairie was that their first review would take place sometime in January. Do you mind me asking your stats (GPA, experience, GRE)?
pt2nurse Sure, right now my cumulative GPA is 3.75 according to NursingCAS (though my science GPA is quite a bit lower at 3.28) and my GRE was 315 with a 5.0 in writing. For experience, I've been a CNA/TMA off and on for 5 years with CPR/BLS certification, have been to Nicaragua for a 10-day medical volunteer trip interacting with rural Spanish-speaking patients, and lived in Morocco for 2 months doing undergrad research on Alzheimer's care.

Thanks for the info chicoperson! Wow, I would've thought your scores and grades were very competitive especially since you applied so early. I'm nervous about my scores now.
Sarbla, do you mind sharing your scores?
