Hello everyone. I hoping someone can provide me with some information. I will be graduating with my RN in May of this year and there is a strong possibility that we will be getting stationed at Ft. Leonardwood. Can anyone tell me about the jobs there, how would I go about getting one as a new graduate or should I try and stay where I am, pass the NCLEX and then relocate to get a job? As you can see I have many questions and there are probably some I don't even know to ask. Any help and information will be greatly appreciated.

We are located at FLW now. We got here last year. Finish your program where you are but the hospital on post is looking for nurses, they are short. With you being a military spouse, Pres. Bush signed a new law last Sept. to give us first rights on federal jobs we are qualified for. The pay around here is not great, and there is nothing to do. Check CPOL for the jobs.
Good Luck
Thank you so much for your help. If this ends up being our duty station I'll keep you posted and look you up if that's ok with you. Child care and schools are going to be my next questions so any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks again

Ft Lost In The Woods, ah...the memories. Twas the place were I did my bootcamp when I was in the Army...seems like many, many, many years ago. Fond memories. I am sure you will find a good position there.
My very best to you in your job search.
That is fine I will help you out with any questions you may have. We live on post in new housing, which is decent. My son who is 4th grade goes to school on post, the school is wonderful but they are a bit behind curve. Most of the elementary schools are on post. There are two of post, one high school and 1 1/2 middle school. LOL! I just received a job offer for GLWACH which is the hospital on post so I will be able to tell you how it is there.
Good Luck to you and maybe you will be "lost in the woods" or "living in misery" soon.
