Possibly moving north

Published

Hi all -

I currently live in FL and have a FL license. I'm looking to move somewhere between NC, SC, and GA. With regards to my license, do I apply for a compact one here or to the specific state I end up choosing? Also does anyone have a ballpark figure on what the pay range is for OR nurses with 22yrs of experience in the coastal areas of those states?
Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I can tell you that you need to live in a compact state to apply for that states compact license. I live in RI, which is not a compact state. If I apply to a compact state, I would only receive a license for that state. I would NOT be allowed a compact license.

Does your license grant multi-state priviliges?  Unless you narrow your search to one state, upgrading your FL license to grant multi-state privileges is likely the easiest way to do this.  When you relocate from one compact state to another, you can work on your current multi-state license while your application for endorsement is being processed.

Best wishes.
