I took a random UDS about two weeks at work. I had just been out for about two weeks due to my entire family getting sick. I do not use drugs and have worked for this company for over 6 years, but my test came back positive for amphetamine. I take venlafaxine and was prescribed azirthromycin, steroids, bromfed, and was taking over the counter cold medications. I emailed my director a list of my medications and have not heard anything back but have been suspended until further notice. If I am fired for this, will have my license pulled? Should I hire a lawyer to fight it? I'm not sure where to begin!

How do you know your license will be pulled. Seems awfully harsh if you can show you were take cold medicine and bromfed which would test positive for amphetamines. Unless you are already under board order for a previous problem I would wait to see what happens be prepared to submit a copy of your prescription should you be asked for it.

Labcorp made me submit my prescriptions and said that bromfed and cold medication wouldn't cause a positive. I don't have anything prior to this on my record.

Levofloxacin and ofloxacin are both antibiotics than cause a false amphetamine positive. Sudafed type products also can-especially if you had been taking them scheduled for several days (as opposed to a one off type situation). Since you had a pcp appointment to get the RX med surely if needed you could offer their chart note with the RX, symptoms, recommendations for otc products as your proof...
Yes, I have read that they can cause false positive as well. It has been a long and drawn out process and I'm just ready to quit and go traveling now. Ha. They are still deciding. They have all of my scripts. It has been a long two weeks.
