I wanted to know what you hear about this. My main concern is that is there any birth defects to the fetus?

Of the literature I've read, I have never seen risks to the baby mostly just effects on the mother. I have PCOS and my son (conceived naturally) is perfect.

Birth defects to the fetus?
Not unless lutenizing horemone and follicle stimulating horemone would have something to do with it...or insulin insensitivity...or elevated testosterone...
My unproffesional opinion- no.
I have PCOS. Up to 10% of women across all ethnicities (don't quote me) have this. We would have a lot of birth defects if this were the case. My understanding is it is harder to get pregnant, it doesn't affect the fetus with defects.

I have PCOS, was a fertility patient, and have two beautiful, healthy boys! As a Neontal RN, I have never seen any defects related to PCOS.
I just came back from an appt and they said no.
What effects on the mother? So how did you get pregnant, were you on any medications first? and how was it like throughout your pregnancy? --the acne, facial hair and stuff.
Were you on medications? How long did it take before you found out you were pregnant?
Thanks everyone and hope to hear more.
My doctor thought I would need Clomid but I didn't (but may in the future). I took Provera to bring on a period. I went about 2 months and was going to take Provera again (to induce another period) but took a PG test per my doctor's instructions and it was positive. I was just 4 weeks pregnant...I must have tested on one of the earliest dpo that you can get a positive response.
I had to take progesterone the first 10 weeks (yuck!) but everything else was pretty much the same as it always was.
Some side effects on the mother are infertility (of course) and ovarian cancer. Good luck to you!
