Do I still need to get a police clearance from my local police station even though I already have my NBI clearance? Help!:confused:

Nope. No more need. The NBI clearance will suffice. You only need the police clearance from another country if you have lived in that country for atleast 6 months in the past

hello.I also need an opinion regarding police clearance. I've worked in Singapore 5years ago for a year.do i still need to get a police clearnce in case I will be schedule in US for the interview? my friend told me that I don't need it anymore since it's been 5years ago already. Anyone out there who could give me info. Your reply will be truly appreciated. thanks.

You still need to get a police a clearance from a country where you lived for more than 6 months. The purpose of a police clearance is for them to know if you have criminal records.

Thanks...now, my problem is how to get started. Do I need to wait for my appointment letter ? of course, there is retrogression but just in case, do i have to act now getting that police clearance before the US interview..I'm now waiting for my packet 4. (hahaha, 48 years in the making). I have finished all the necessary requirements(visa screen/cgfns certificate,I'm now a US license and everything )so do I have to act now getting a police clearance from Singapore or do I have to wait my appointment letter from the US embassy?Hope you could enlightened me again with this matter. If I were you, I'd do the police clearance now so you have it once things start moving. Just check how long it is good for to make sure it won't expire before you get your interview.

yes, you definitely require a police clearance. My bro-n-law was asked to submit a clearance from Qatar police even though it had been 20 yrs since he left that country. You will receive a letter from immigration that will detail the procedures on how to get one

Packet 4 contains instructions for interview & medicals. It's better to prepare all necessary documents, or better ask your lawyer's advice. You may receive P4 sooner or later, no one knows. Police clearance is valid for 1 year only.
