For those of you using PCC:
We are just getting oriented to PointClickCare.
Were they able to import your information from the program you were using prior to PCC - such as meds, diagnoses, etc? or did you have to enter this information yourself?
Thank you!

We too have Point Click Care and no it did not bring everything from our previous software to this one, each of us took a wing and entered all the data on each resident- diagnosis, immunizations, weights, vitals, labs etc. The business office entered all the financials on each resident. It was hectic the first few months but I wouldn't want any other software now that I have been using this for over a year now!! It is so user friendly and they do get back with you when you email them with a problem.

I had an opposite experience. Pointclickcare sucks. It takes them a few days to respond to problems over the email and when you call them they will just say they will try to figure out and no definite answers.
Although the company did import most of the 2.0 MDS from our previous software but there are missing data or gaps that a month of MDS are not imported. So you still have to go back and forth from the old software to pointclick.
We experienced a lot of software issues in the first three months . Now I am still not liking it. Not user-friendly at all. But what can we, the MDS coordinators, do? we don't have a say on what software to use.
Now I am still struggling on catching up on all the PPS MDS. We started using this software Oct 1st when 3.0 went live. So dealing with the new 3.0 and then the software had me so far behind on my work.
Thank you for the replies. I am sorry that you don't have a say in what software to use, we are lucky to have an administrator that does listen.
We are just getting into it but so far I am not impressed. The training that we have where we are online as well as doing the phone conference is just worthless to me. I have not gotten too much into the online tutorials but they would have to be better.
We shall see, at this point we are not sure if we will stay with them or not.

Sorry to hear about some of the issues with PCC. We moved from MDI Achieve over 2 years ago to Momentum Healthware. They offer wonderful training, Our MDS data was imported with no issues. Support emails are ticketed usually within 30 minutes to one hour. We receive Support calls and webex's to resolve the issues. We are still in the process of 'rolling-out' all aspects of the EHR from paper. This has been a great experience with wonderful support. They are a very progressive software vendor.

Yes, the problem here is the training. In an ideal world , clinicians would have the opportunity to have some (albeit) brief orientation to this. But this is getting into unhealthy territory-clinicians are expected to figure this out on their own, spend hours on it, and in the end neglect the patient.
Yes, there might be good training initially for the few that are there, but the rest are left hanging. This is not safe..
Please, administrators have some respect for your staff and provide some training and availabiity to tech support that will actually follow through.

My PCC training consisted of someone pointing out the training 'button' on the web site. I had a problem with PCC...it took 9 emails and 10 calls before they figured it out.
