PLU ELMSN 2016

Published

Greetings!

I recently came across a very helpful thread on allnurses regarding last year's applications to the ELMSN program and thought I would try to get some dialogue going for those applying for the program starting in June 2016.

I took the GRE earlier this week and am wrapping up my applications (PLU, Seattle U, etc) now. I would be happy to answer any questions about my experiences throughout the application process, but mostly I thought this would be a great space to encourage and motivate one another!

I'm a non-traditional student and former finance professional making one of the most exciting transitions into healthcare. I'm also a current PLU student so I'm familiar with the campus, which is beautiful by the way (if some of you aren't and were curious).

If you have questions, ask away. If you have answers, we'd love to hear them. Or, if you just want to pop in and introduce yourself, we'd love that too!

Good luck everyone!

Did you get the official snail mail yet?

I haven't received mine yet.

I haven't received mine yet either. I'm also out of town for the next 10 days so I will be relying on my roommates to keep an eye out for it when they check the mail.

I went ahead and submitted my deposit and acceptance online. I doubt I will get into SU since it's super competitive. But that is alright. I am looking forward to attending PLU. :)

I checked the mail just now and I got the packet!

It's almost exactly the same as the e-mail, but it's nice to see a big packet saying "GOOD NEWS INSIDE" ;)

And Yay! Looking forward to meeting you in June :)

Positive news today! I missed a call from PLU last night, called back today and found out they've expanded their class size to 24 and are accepting people from the wait list. I was one of those people!

Wait list is moving fast, so if you've received a letter, hold onto hope!!

Congratulations lalalikelife!

Are you planning on going to PLU too?

It's really going to depend on Seattle, I interviewed for the community public health track on 1/30, so I've been impatiently waiting to hear their decision... Short answer: I don't know!

Just so happy I got a yes from one school and I know I'll be moving forward this year.

Congrats on getting in! I didn't get an interview for community public health so I'll just assume I can't get in because with how many applicants are applying the waitlist must be really long even if people drop out. Wishing you all the best of luck!

@lalalikelife Looks like lalalikelife got accepted to SU! Congratulations!

Are you planning on going to SU then?

@ MSNhopeful Did you hear back from any other schools? Are you still planning on going to PLU?

I'm really leaning toward SU, but I'm going to go up next week and hang out on both campuses before I make my decision. I'm from Eugene, so either place will be a significant increase in cost of living... But Seattle rent is really crazy. Stupid money.

I went to school at University of Oregon. Go ducks! :)

@lalalikelife

How did you like the two campuses?

I actually haven't been around the PLU campus except to attend the information session one evening.

Received my wait list letter last night. Does anyone know if they will be telling us what number we are on the wait list? Hoping, wishing, praying now!
