Hey everyone! I know it's a little early, but I'm wondering if anyone is applying to the PLU elmsn program to start in 2015.
We could use this forum as a place to communicate and support each other through this process!
I am so ready to get things rolling. PLU is my first choice, so hoping this year is my year!
Thank you! I do not know how many have applied or how many have been accepted. I am out of state so was notified of my acceptance via email. They will be sending paperwork in the mail as well. It has been a long journey for me.
Thank you for updating us! I've been checking back here frequently in hopes of getting more information, so I really appreciate it! I'm happy for you that all of your hard work and dedication has paid off. If you are willing, please let us know when your snail mail letter comes and if you get any other information. Congratulations again and good luck to the rest of us! Hopefully more of us will be able to celebrate soon!
Hello! PLU Admissions here! Please don't obsess yet - the faculty committee has not met yet to review the cases. The person who was admitted was an off-cycle case. I know what it's like to obsessively check email for admission info, so I wanted to put your minds to rest for now. Admitted students won't find out until at least Feb, and you will be notified via email and then get a snail mail packet. And I'll reiterate the advice to not over-think the GRE. It is only one of many things they look at. They're nurses after all, and they know people are so much more than just a number. To answer your other question - as of right now we have 100 applications. I wish the best to you all!!
Well guys, it is the last day of January. Tomorrow marks the start of the month where we will -hopefully- get news from PLU!
I know it seems silly to post here and I'm sorry if seeing an extra comment on the forum makes your heart skip a beat for a second, but I just feel the need to reach out. I'm finding it so difficult to be present with my family, friends, or even at my job. Not knowing about PLU is an all consuming emotion for me lately and I feel as though "no one understands." But I'm sure you guys do.
I keep telling myself that no matter the outcome I have done all that I can and no matter what I will become a nurse.
I hope you guys have been able to enjoy the month of January.
I mean I did, but I'm also happy to see it go
I called admissions today and asked when we could expect to hear whether or not we had been accepted. The answer? Early March at the earliest. They are still looking through our applications and are even receiving some new ones. Needless to say, I'm pretty bummed. I was hoping to hear back from them within the next few days. C'est la vie. I suppose we've already waited this long already. What's another month?
Until March!? That's crazy. It is well beyond other school's decision deadlines. At this point, if PLU offers, I would be giving up a spot at UW for their ABSN and losing that deposit. I am still really hopeful about hearing from here, since the outcome is a Master's degree. How frustrating to have their decisions pushed back another month!

May 25, I was notified via email of my acceptance. A little bit of my background: My Bachelors degree is in Business Administration. I had a 4.0 in all of my nursing pre-requisites. My GRE scores were average, right at PLU's minimum requirement. My two letters of recommendations were from the lead nurse at a hospital and a child life specialist at the hospital. I took an 8 week CNA course at TCC and volunteered at the children's hospital 3 days a week this past year. I tried to do a lot of volunteering in the community this last year as well. I hope that helps some. :) Good luck to you all and hope to see some of you in June!
