Please someone help! Chamberlain May 2016 session

Nursing Students Chamberlain College

Published

Ok so I have been attending Chamberlain since September 2015 in Houston, TX and I will be taking Health Assessment l on campus every Tuesday for lecture and lab for the May 2016 session and I don't know who my professor will be yet becase it says "TBA" as of right now.

May session starts May 2nd, and my problem is that I am going to NYC for a family wedding May 24th-31st. The 24th is a Tuesday and I could have gone to class first and then leave for the airport but I can't since my flight is at 5am and I have class at 9am, so obviously I won't be able to make it.

My question is, if I miss one lecture and lab of this class is it going to be a huge problem? Has anyone missed one lecture and lab of this class? If so, what happened and what location did you attend? I'm having major anxiety because I have never missed class before. Please if anyone out there can help me I would really appreciate it. I don't know what to do. Please help!!

You will get an warning email due to missing two consecutive classes. You will receive a document that you will need to sign You will then need to make up the lab hours in open lab, and get the forms signed off.

Hope this helps

Try taking the course online. That would solve your attendance issue and you can enjoy a stress free week with your family.

may I ask,

how do you like chamberlain, is it worth it? ive heard that many places wont hire a chamberlain graduate over a UTMB graduate or graduate from an accredited university. is that true?

There are many Chamberlain grads that have secured employment before they have even taken the NCLEX, I would say that what you have heard is not 100% true. There are grads that are in many major hospitals in the Medical Center, The Woodlands and County hospital, they are the places that I am aware of.

How do I personally like the school? I like the what the school stands for, I like what the school is trying to achieve however, I've had many issues that have had me thinking whether I personally had made the right decision. I'm doing a lot of soul searching at the moment.

At 40 I was not prepared to wait another year to start at a community college or state university. Being a military family we have moved a lot and I wanted to be able to start and finish within this last move before my husband retires. I guess what I can say is do your own soul search, read reviews, check NCLEX scores and take it from there.

I hope this at least partially answers your question

You need to just keep an eye on statistics/reports rather than what people like and dislike about the school because it's "opinion" you read my opinion on my personal issues there, they may be different to that of another student there.

Plus, I try not to think too hard about when people say about "i heard it was" because if someone is not a student there they really do not know in my opinion.

What I have seen is that since the beginning of this year is that the NCLEX 1st time pass rate is at 80%+ if this continues the NCLEX score (students pass %)for the reporting period will increase which would be fantastic.

I thought about this last night.. Even started looking at bridge programs but then I said... Nope.. God if you brought me to this program .. You already have a plan for me in this program.. You are correct.. It's different peoples opinions.. I will continue to pray for everyone including instructors because they need guidance too.. ..
