Thought here I would find someone to help ... But ...

Specializes in Nephrology, Cardiology, ER, ICU.

I think the job situation is just very tight.

Specializes in Critical Care; Cardiac; Professional Development.

Unfortunately there just isn't any help to give you. California is one of the tightest job markets in the country for new grad RNs. There are not enough openings for every new nurse who wants a job. Many have to move out of state to get that coveted first position. If that is something you can consider, you should.

Hi,

It's very tough out there but don't give up, be persistent ! Keep looking and keep applying ! If no luck with hospitals or agencies (most of them want 1 year experience), try long term care/nursing homes/urgent care as well. Find a few and just walk-in one day and introduce yourself and keep following up and calling. Very tiresome but I can assure you there are other hundreds of nurses out there looking as well. Until you find a job, volunteer or join groups. It may uplift you and also give you the opportuinity to meet people ! You'll be more marketable once you land that first job ! It may not be your dream job or what you wanted but it's a start and you don' stop from there. Good luck with your search ! I wish you well !
