Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

Hi, everyone

I need some advice and hope that anyone can help me.

Me and my sister went to lpn in school together. And we are finished, we just have to do our 90 hours. While in school my sister got into some trouble when she was working to pay for school.let me add that she had nothing to do with it. it was wrong place, wrong time situation.well anyway she got arrested for theft and is still going to court now for this case. she has not been convited of anything.she also have finish school and is doing her 90hours so that she cant send in the application to take the state board.now let me explain the theft situation. she got in trouble for ringing up an employee that was using her credit card to do illegal transaction and there was no way that she could have known the transaction was illegal because the credit card was in the employee name. and she got arrested because they had to arrest anyone that came in contact with the card even if they did not have anything to do with it. it was a total of 8 people arrested all together. My sister have never been in trouble before and she has always been in school. her lawyer that is handling this case say she have a good chance of dismissing it because he do not she any legal transactions she made. now my question is do you thing that she can still take her state boards with a case pending against her because she has not be convicted or charged. and she have letter from people explaining the type of person she is. and she is a good person. can anyone give me advice to pass along that can help her. Or can you give me advice on what she can do. Nursing is very important to her and this is something she love to do. thank you for reading

We can't give out legal advice on this board. The best thing she can do is call her State Board of Nursing and find out if she will be eligible. Good luck!

please read the quote below.

questions we seem to be encountering more and more often have to do with the effects of a criminal history on nursing licensure:

* is it possible to become licensed as a nurse if you have a criminal history?

* is it possible to become licensed as a nurse if you have a dui or other related charges?

* what happens if you are charged or convicted of a crime after licensure?

* can i go to nursing school and/or be licensed if my record has been sealed or expunged?

these are questions that the members of allnurses.com cannot answer. the only reliable source of information is your state board of nursing.

Thank you. I look on the nursing website and it says that they do not consider connections with applying for your state board if you have an arrest record not followed by a conviction. so she will be ok.
