hi everyone!
i haven't posted in a while, but have been getting encouragement from everyone's postings.
i enrolled with excelsior the last week of december 2010, and so far have done a&p, health differences, transitions, chronicity, repro, and i'm scheduled to take ls1 7/18. planning on being done with ls2 and ls3 by mid september.
now, i still have micro, life span, and information literacy to take.
i requested approval to clep human growth and development in lieu of life span and was granted such.
however, i got an answer about the info literacy course that i don't quite get... pls, read below:
"penn foster is not regionally accredited by the american council on education. the eng*103 information literacy course is currently approved, however that approval can change at any time. for this reason, i am not able to offer formal course approval. if you choose to take the course and send an official transcript for evaluation, i can apply the credit if the course is ace approved at that time."
i don't understand what this means... i read here so many threads about different people taking il with penn foster... i'm really confused. i'd love to hear from you, experienced gals/guys, before i call excelsior about it. and if you all think i can take it with penn foster, would you mind giving me the "code" for the course? i looked all over their website and didn't find anything... sorry, i feel so stupid right now!!
thanks so much!
OK... I just had a long conversation with Penn Foster... the issue with Excelsior NOT accepting Penn Foster Info Lit course was whether or not PF will continue to renew their ACE Accreditation. They plan to continuously renew ACE for each course, as it is ready to expire. SO.... I guess that means that EC will continue to accept Penn Foster!! I'm going to take it this week! :)

You have to pay an additional $10 to have your transcript sent to excelsior. There were no problems with excelsior accepting the course. My eval was updated the next day with the course listed and all gen eds complete. Now I just need to do the nursing courses.
