If you only need to know ml/hr, disregard the drip factor.
Since you need to know the hourly rate (ml/hr), the first thing to do is multiply the ordered dosage by 60: 250 mcg/min x 60 = 15000 mcg/hr
Next, look at the medication available -- it's in milligrams, not micrograms, so you'll need to convert 15000 mcg to milligrams: 15000 mcg/1000 = 15 mg.
So, the ordered dose is 15 mg/hr. You have 400 mg in 250 ml D5W on hand. You can next get ml/hr by using the D/H x Q formula: 15/400 x 250 = 9.375 ml/hr (follow whatever your teacher's instructions are on rounding)
Hope that helps!

Here's a website...it's sort of out-dated (2006), but I found it to be a helpful resource. Hope it helps!

250ml x 25mg / 500mg = you get what ever ml/hr
