Hi all Im new to this forum, but Im looking for information about direct comission into the army with my BSN (and no experience so right out of school) I guess my first question should be what is the max age to apply for a direct commision and second will I be accepted with dependents ?

You won't be considered unless you have at least 2 years of experience...ideally that experience will be in the specialty you'll want to pursue in the military. Max age is 42, as of now. That number was lower before the increased recruiting needs for OIF/OEF, so it may go back down again. And whether you have dependents or not, isn't going to impact if you are selected. The Army doesn't care about that extra expense, as long as you can perform your job. Sorry to bring bad news.

I will say that the Navy and Air Force are still taking very limited numbers of new grads. You might want to look in that direction. Find a Recruiter: Navy.com or Contact Us: Find a Recruiter - airforce.com. Make sure you choose the officer or healthcare options.

They are still accepting applicants but branch was just saying that the picking are slim, especially with the drawdown that is occurring. They will accept you if you have dependents, but they want someone with a few years of experience and preferably with a specialization. Definitely make sure you can pass that PT test though before you even think of applying...
