Please give this nursing student some answers...

Published

Hey all-

First wanted to start out by thanking you all for all the wonderful information you all share on this site. I have learned so much from this site! I am a EMT-I and I am in school to get my RN.

Can someone please tell me how much roughly, I know it will be an average does an RN make per hour, lets say weekends vs weekdays.....Night vs Day and PRN vs FT

Also how much difference is there for an associates in nursing vs a BSN? What is the highest paying field of nursing? Looks like I might be on my own soon, as I have been married for 16 years and we are headed for a divorce:crying2:, I want to know that I will be able to support myself and my child. I thank you all so much for your help. Any words of advice woudl be awesome.

I hate to break it to you but Salary.com is often way off

No worries here, I didn't expect it to be too precise. I figured it would be ballpark (at least it looked that way when I went off of what a classmate said her pay was).

Thanks to the rest of you all, I became a EMT after my mother committed suicide (she had MS and Colon CA) and I wanted to make a difference, I have always wanted to do nursing and have been in the medical field with some aspect or another for about 15 years. I find that there are some extremely helpful, nice nurses.

Specializes in Advanced Practice, surgery.

This forum is for student support, by it's very nature your going to find that there are questions asked that may well have been asked before. As a new member many years ago it took me ages to navigate around the forums and use the different functions I'm glad I had a bit of support and guidance from the UK nurses on the site.

I guess what I am getting at is you can point new members in the right direction without being sarcastic or rude, if you find that difficult then don't comment at all.
