Hello!
I haven't even started nursing school yet, but I've started looking at job postings and have noticed that agencies offer quite a bit more/hr than hospitals do. Why is this? What are some things to be cautious about, if any, before signing on with an agency? What's the catch?
Thanks,
Jennifer

1. No health insurance
2. High patient load. (usually to replace a temp. shortage of nurses)
3. Their hopsital insurance policy probably does not cover you.
Are just some things agencies don't mention. :chuckle

Most agencies want the nurse to have at least 1-2 years of training. You need to be confident with your skills and assessments before you work agency. You really dont get orientation, you can get thrown into a very busy floor and you need to be able to handle it. Agencies are good after a few years of nursing experience, and they do pay much better then hospitals.
