Wow its been a while since I've posted on AN. Well since I've switched to full-time status things have gotten pretty stressful pretty fast. I knew it would be a lot to deal with but I had no idea just how much would be on my plate. Whew!!
Ok so this semester I'm taking med surg 1, basic pharmacology, and intro to pn with a med surg clinical in a rehab hospital! With being a full time mommy, going to school full-time, and working 12 hr shifts, I was managing pretty well...well enough to keep my grades up..then it all changed...I had to miss 2 days of school for Dr appts and in those 2 days I missed a lot.. 5 exams is wht I had to make up...talk about playing catch up! I feel so far behind now. I was able to make up 2 exams but trying to focus on new lectures and keep up on wht i missed is driving me crazy. This semester is almost over and I have no idea wht my grades really are until I can get those exams made up. The stress on top of the stress I've already had is making me more stressed out if tht makes any sense. I'm really playing catch up. How's everyone doing this semester? Are you hanging in there?? I won't give up!

Definitely have to say it's not what I expected! My class started in January and we are f/t, but comprehensive. So basically I'm working on nursing foundations, med surg1, basic pharm, AP 1, and clinical all at once! I missed one day of clinical and I feel like my momentum just crashed. I know where you're coming from girl! How much longer do you have in your program?
Rossf014, my program is a 22 month program...one semester of prereqs and then 18 months of actual nursing classes...I'll finish may 2017....how long do you have left ?
10 more months out of 13. Eek!

OMG!! I'll be starting my LPN classes in 2 weeks and I know it'll be stressful for me as well. I work full time, I have a 12 year old and a soon to be 1 year old so I know I'll be getting little to no sleep. I'm praying I get some kind of balance once I start so I wouldn't get so overwhelmed with everything.

You'll catch up, just keep pushing. I'm working 32 hours/week, school/clinical Mon-Fri 7:30am-2:15pm, two teenage sons who play football, basketball, and AAU basketball (and a wife to keep happy :)). It's not easy, but doable, with sacrifice and family support. I'm near the end of my 2nd semester - can't wait for the summer break, then the 3rd and last semester begins August. The first 2 semesters went by fast. I can't believe I have only 1 semester left after this last month before the break - woohoo!
