I am required to devise a play therapy intervention to implement during my pediatriac clinical rotation. Unfortunately, this type of thing is not my forte. Can anyone suggest any ideas that do not require too much time? Thanks in advance.

That's an interesting assignment, since "play therapy" is a form of child psychotherapy practiced by credentialed psychotherapists ... You may want to clarify with your instructor what s/he is looking for.
The assignment is basically a teaching tool that involves play (i.e. blowing bubbles to promote deep breathing).

It could also be giving medicine to a teddy bear or bandaging a teddy bear things like that

Well, imho, you need to fit the patient's issues to your intervention...
ie if your patient has no issues with breathing.... then you'd not want to do the bubbles for deep breathing.
But if you take a teddy bear, or a doll, and you use that to explain to the child, and or mom what you are going to be doing.... and let the child do it to the bear or doll, while you are doing it to the child.... that will be something that would work.
